Historic Madeline Island Accommodations – Brittany Cottages, a historic Madeline Island estate on the shores of Lake Superior, offers a tradition of nearly a century of lodging hospitality to the traveling public today. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places – the only such property on Madeline Island – we continue to serve the public today as they did then, as the perfect family vacation spot to escape the summer heat of the Midwest. Whether your tastes run to the reflective, the active, the historic, or the scenic, you will find much to please you here.

A walk or a bike ride at sunset will allow you to introduce yourself to much of the island wildlife - deer, fox, raccoon, mink, and the bird watcher can look forward to the occasional hawk or eagle to go with the many seagulls and song birds. If you see an 8-point buck passing through while sipping your wine in the teahouse of our formal garden, there's no extra charge. If you see a black bear out the window while brushing your teeth, that's on the house too. And if a duck hops up on the dock while you're reading by the lake and begs for food, that's included as well!
